MaxSim VCS

The Adacel MaxSim VCS™ (Voice Communications System) provides real-time voice communication facilities aimed at the specific requirements of simulation-based training. The MaxSim VCS™ can either be a standalone fully configurable VCS or be integrated with the Adacel configurable MaxSim simulators.

MaxSim VCS is a highly reliable, sophisticated, multi-channel, voice communication system. It employs a full color interface that is software configurable utilizing the supplied editing tools, which include drag and drop button positioning. A variety of configurations can be created and saved for later use in scenario specific contexts. The interface is interactive on a touch screen monitor. Audio inputs can be initiated through headset microphones, stand microphones, hand held microphones and telephone handsets by integrated press-to-talk (PTT) switches or a PTT foot pedal, which is also available. Digital audio output can be directed to speakers and/or headsets.

MaxSim VCS has proven to be highly reliable. To date, customers have rarely encountered any component failures. In the unlikely event that one should occur, the system architecture is designed to normally limit the occurrence to a single position and not to affect the system as a whole.

The MaxSim VCS can support multiple simultaneous scenarios and each workstation within any scenario uses a common hardware interface, eliminating any need to retrain when position changes are required.

Key features include:

Individual trainee and monitor headset jacks at each position
Position monitor function (allows one position to monitor all radio and landlines at a selected second position)
Radio and landline simulation (main and standby)
Active recordable ATIS loop transmission
Emergency radio frequencies with monitor function
Emergency alarms
A variety of user configurable radio jamming and interference noises
Transfer frequencies to another position
Call forwarding
Call hold
Direct (hotline) and indirect access landline calls
Individual and master volume controls

ARTT VCS

ARTT VCS is a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) based multi-channel voice communications system. The system employs standard COTS hardware and requires little in the way of computer resources. It is easy to install, operate and maintain and offers the buyer an economical solution to operate either as a standalone communications system or to integrate with an existing training simulation system. It is fully compatible with the ARTT Radar product.

ARTT VCS permits simultaneous emulation of radio and landline voice communications among multiple parties. The interface can be displayed on either a standard or touch screen monitor and permits user configuration to adapt to local requirements. The system incorporates a press-to-talk feature and can be activated by an optional footswitch. Audio output can be via speakers and/or headsets. The stereo headset function separates incoming simulated radio and landline calls to the left and right earpieces.
